Blood Magic by Cody Forsyth | micropoetry | #thesideshow

Blood Magic

The sacrifice is in the name of science.
Alright, then. A snip reveals a cavity,
brown and fasciculating.
Another snip reveals a blood diamond.
It beats life even when death is close.
Keep going, don’t stop.
Puncture and inject death-blood,
snip and observe the life-blood pool.
The ritual is complete, but I never thought
science would prove that magic exists.
