collegetown
Would I be prettier
with three earrings on
each ear? Hoops dangling
thru collegtown. I see
a house on campus,
&wonder what it’s like
to come thru now!
Everyone commutes by skateboards
while texting. I’m not
getting any messages. I
remember watching reruns with
friends. Wee’d stream TV
in the middle of
the day. Wee’d chase
the train to change
fate. Those memories. They’re
there. My friends exist
over airwaves. My future
is unclear. My existence
without choice. My remembering
is of something that
is no longer mine.
My face. That smile—
the remembering of love
very late. My discontent
with the present, think:
What did I learn?
What did we do?
