And Methylated
Capped for stability
And ability
The strand
Seeking silently
The mechanics of
Formation
Foundation

Ribbons of ribosomes
Strung like bouncy beads
Turning petite
Pretty peptides
Into
Productive
Protein
Patterns
Dr. Gillespie is a scientist, a published poet, short story writer, and playwright. As Kate Gillespie, her work has appeared in Gargoyle Magazine, Silver Blade Magazine, Urbanite Magazine and others. She’s a Writer in Residence at Renaissance House Writer’s Retreat in Martha’s Vineyard and has been featured in arts stories in the Asbury Park Press, Martha’s Vineyard Gazette, Baltimore’s WJZ-TV and WYPR Maryland Public Radio.
